This is a great unit.
I bought the Streetpilot 330c for my Dad and I really liked the user interface as it was easy to used. I can say this because my Dad is easily confused with technology and he is having no problems.
When I was shopping for my own unit, I new I needed a few more bells and whistle in order to satisfy my needs. Maps alone would not have done this.
What brought me to the Nuvi 660 was that in addition to the intuitive inteface similar to the 330c, it also integrations traffic data and Bluetooth hands free phone. These products works as advertised and are welcome additions. Before purchasing, be sure to check to make sure your phone is compatible.
Another likable feature is the fact that the voice can read the names of the streets. To top it off, you can change the voices from female to male AND/OR to a different accent (American, British or Australian). You can also change your car icon from different cars, trucks (including Monster) or to different color arrows. This is just fun stuff and shouldn't sway your choice, but it is kind of fun.
The only disappointment I have is that when typing street names, Garmin chooses to us an ABCDEF typing pad instead of a QWERTY (computer keyboard) style. It takes me a few more seconds to find the letters I need. Small issue, but annoying.
Prices for this unit are falling due to newer products coming out. It's a good time to look as this is a fairly expensive unit.
Enjoy

This is an outstanding GPS that is not an in-dash model. It is easy enough that my parents in their 80s have no problem using it. Easy menus, touch screen. Even my hard of hearing father can use the FM to be able to hear the commands.
The speach is a bit choppy so you need to pay attention. It has an internal battery so if you keep the car plug in and want to take it off the dash then need to unplug it from the other source to use the internal battery. If you use the electric plug, it assumes you have plugged it into the computer. You need to make sure you get it to charge the battery or go to the map view.
When you turn off the engine it recognizes it has lost power and asks if you want it to shutoff or go on battery. It also turns itself back on when you start your car.
Only thing I would say it is missing is a remote control. I chose to get the bean bag dashboard mount and it works great. This makes the nuvi not obstruct your vision and is easily movable from car to car. Well worth the extra money. It never slid off the dashboard in nearly 1 month of use.

I came off the Magellan 860 and hated it. The touch screen on the Nuvi is very responsive and I love the MP3 and Audio book capability.

This GPS is excellent it does what its suppose to do. Sets up quickly takes you where you direct it to turn by turn, voice is distinct and clear. Purchased it in Salt Lake City for
ease of navigating in the city. Went to L.A it operated without a single mis-direction. Also to Nevada.
Moved to Boston from SLC and I was again amazed at the voice commands that operated perfectly.turn by turn.
For a ramp exit it informs you about a mile in advance and again about .01 of a mile.
Same when in bumper to bumper Boston city traffic.
When travelling it finds nearest lodging, fuel, food etc.
Ask me if I would purchase this again, go ahead ask me if you want to waste your time.
Buy it you`ll like it

Pros:
Every features is superior than Magellan, Tom Tom, Cobra, etc. in thinness, style, Map color.
(Expecially in having a lot of POI, Garmin knows every business, school, attractions, airports, etc)
Cons:
Only one cons, which is it doesn't have previous city selection so that the user have to type the name of the city every time you use it. It could be very frustrating if you are using in one city all the time.
In contrast, Tom Tom has the previous city selection so that if you want to go to the same city, you just choose from the previous city list.
So, in comparison, We have to press the buttons an average of 3 to 10 punches more when you enter an address depends on the length of the city name compare to Tom Tom.
Overall is a very outstanding unit. I like it

I was worried it would not pick up the satellite signals in my class C motor home with the overhang over my cab. The Garmin 660 worked without an external antenna. That flip up antenna on the back works very well. I tried it inside my living room ( I live on the bottom floor of a 2 story building) and it worked. I was by my living room by the sliding glass door, and have a enclosed aluminum patio next to the living room. It picked up a 4 bar strength signal inspite of the aluminum patio roof blocking and my upstairs neighbor blocking the signal. I am amazed. But, I noticed there were no pre-loaded poi (point of interest ) campgrounds, with was disappointing. Now I have to shell out another $35 bucks to download campground poi data from the internet.

This is a great tool. Just plug it in the cigarette lighter, wait for the signal to program where you are, put in the address and press go. It talks to you all the way and recalculates if you turn off the given directions. It is very easy to use and the instructions were well written and very easy to understand. The hardest thing was where to put it in my Volvo SUV. Still haven't figured that one out yet.

This is the best GPS devise that I have ever had. The Bluetooth works great for the handsfree phone (iphone). It work well with the FM receiver. It has so my options and I use all of them.
However, the rubber suction cup that holds it to the windshield should not be removed over and over as it came lose one time and broke the devise. It was under warranty and thus I got another one and bought an extra suction mount for when I travel.
After you have one of these it won't make since to live without it.

Map viewing can get pretty irritating, due to it's slow internal processin, especially when before an exit and it takes its lovely time to load the map. Otherwise its a good product, i'm happy.
