Nintendo first mentioned a successor to the Nintendo 64 on March 3, 1999, a day after Sony's announcement of the PlayStation 2. The Gamecube is a gem. It not only has the lowest price
of the three systems, but a great feeling controller!

The actual power of the Gamecube is much more than PS2
and less (in some areas) than the Xbox. The Gamecube is
capable of making your jaw drop with gorgeous graphics!
Not that any of that is really a concern, if the fun
factor of a game is lacking than good graphics are
nothing more than eye candy. Gamecube has plenty of
both! Great graphics and FUN! Nintendo makes simply the
best, most fun, creative games around! They have been
since the start.

Great Gamecube exclusive games include: Super Smash
Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda:
Windwaker, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Eternal Darkness, Metroid
Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Mario Kart: Double
Dash!!, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario: The Thousand-year
Door, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis and the list goes on.

Another key advantage of the Gamecube is in the build
quality of Nintendo products. The Gamecube is a well
built cute yet powerful little cube. The controller is
put together well and the feel is simply the best.

The Gamecube also supports progressive scan for an
even better picture on your TV, and Dolby Pro-Logic II
surround sound for an awesome experience. You can also
connect your Gameboy Advance or SP to the system for
added features in select games. Online gaming is made
available through either a broadband modem or dial-up.

Let me address something that often floats from
people's lips. The Gamecube is NOT geared toward
kids. It is geared for everybody and anybody who loves
games. Yes, that means kids, teens, adults and everyone
in the middle will love it. Don't let bright colors
and cute characters mislead you, these are easy to pick
up but challenging games. (i.e. Super Mario Sunshine)
The rating system is for informing on game content, not
the challenge. A "M" or mature rated game
does not mean its challenging or even good, just that
it shows things much like a "R" rated movie.

If there is a downside to the Gamecube it is in the
third-party support (i.e. Konami, Midway, etc.) But the
classic simply amazing Nintendo exclusive games more
than make up for that!

To conclude, if you are a gamer who enjoys challenging
creative games the Gamecube should be at the top of
your MUST-HAVE list. I recommend it.
Pros: Great Graphics, Best Controller, Nintendo Quality
Cons: Third-party support

What's not to like? The games that are made by Nintendo are great. Such titles as Metroid Prime 2 and certainly the Zelda series are what give the Gamecube variety in it's games. The PS2 has games that have the same story, in a way. (For instance: Rachet&Clank, Jak&Daxter.) Also, most of the PS2 and Xbox games that are made only for that certain console are side games, not the ones that have an original storyline, and are engageing to play. The graphics are as good as or better than the Xbox or the PS2. In addition, the speed is much faster than that of the other two. It takes at average to load a game, about two seconds; at max, about ten seconds. You would think that with the $200 price tag on the Xbox and the PS2 would make it a fast console. (It takes, what, three minutes to load a game with the Xbox)The PS2 has bad Playstation-only games. The only good and popular game only for Xbox is the Halo series. On the Nintendo Gamecube, you have Nintendo-only games that are engageing, fun, and worth buying. (For Example:Super Smash Bros. Melee) Most good games, like Grand Theft Auto, or Need for Speed, are on all of the consoles. Another plus, it is the least expensive of the three.
Pros: graphics sound control fun
Cons: none at all
